The Otterbein Cardinal baseball team got their season off to a historic start, as their two victories on Saturday pushed their record to 13-1, the best start to a season in program history.
Game one of Saturday was a nine inning game against Lasell College, a team they beat twice earlier in the week in a doubleheader.
The Lasers were resilient in the early innings, but the Cardinals bats broke through in the fourth and fifth innings, putting up five runs and taking a 5-2 lead.

The Cardinal baseball team remained undefeated during their spring break trip to Fort Myers, Fla. and pushed their win streak to ten games.
After having Wednesday and Thursday off, the Cardinals returned to the diamond Friday with a doubleheader against Plymouth State University from Plymouth, N.H.
In game one, senior David Cydrus took to the mound, looking to pick up his second victory of the Florida trip.

The Otterbein baseball team got its annual spring break trip started off on the right foot with a
double-header sweep of Wisconsin-Stout.
Senior David Cydrus started game one on the mound for the Cardinals and threw a complete
game, giving up three runs and striking out seven as Otterbein won 9-3.
Leading the way offensively for Otterbein was freshman outfielder Tyler Kent who went 2-for-3
with an
RBI and scoring two runs.

NBC affiliate in Madison, WI reports that Todd Adrian, head coach of the Edgewood College men’s basketball team, will be leaving at the end of June to come coach at Otterbein.
Adrian will replace Dick Reynolds who retired earlier this year after the end of his 40th season with the Cardinals.

America’s past-time is back! Honestly it does not seem like it ever truly goes away as just four months after the last possible World Series game, pitchers and catchers report to training camp to refresh familiarity in working with one another.
But this off-season was no scene of unfamiliarity if you are a baseball junky of any sort, as the power shift transferred yet another big bopper to the American League.
