Food and drink from 21 different Westerville businesses were the highlight of the 8th annual Taste of Westerville contest put on by the Westerville Area Chamber of Commerce.

Over 200 people attended the event browsing dozens of dishes from local restaurants. The People’s Choice Award, selected by individuals who were at the event, went to two fine Westerville establishments. First, the Polaris Grill for its filet mignon sliders, as well as Bel Lago for its lobster mac & cheese and mini meatballs.

But in the end, only the panel of judges could determine who took home top place in each category.

Among the winners were, J. Gilbert’s Wood-Fired Steak earning best appetizer award for its shrimp Durango; Bess’ Cakery earned best presentation award; and the Old Bag of Nails earned best overall award for its crab cakes and clam chowder.
