“I Heart Westerville Schools” is the newest trademark to promote the March 6th levy proposal impacting Westerville City Schools.

The campaign, from pro-levy group Our Community, Our Schools, is promoting the five-year, $6.9 million issue.

Hats, T-shirts, buttons and signs all display the black text and red heart, which mimics the classic “I Heart New York” graphic. All proceeds from the sale of these items is donated directly back to the district.

Opposition to Issue 10 is already voicing its opinion.

The website levyfacts.com as well as signs that read “I heart Westerville. I just can’t afford an increase in taxes,” push for a second “no” vote after the November levy failed.

The newest version of the proposal will generate $16.5 million, a 25 percent reduction from its predecessor, and will cost taxpayers $211 per $100,000 of house value.
