Otterbein scheduled to host school-funding discussion

Otterbein University’s Riley Auditorium will host a forum on “Public School Funding 101” from 7-9 p.m. Monday, February 6th at the Battelle Fine Arts Center located at 170 West Park Street.

Hosting this forum will be Dr. Susan Constable, chair of Otterbein’s education department. She and a panel of experts will breakdown how school funding works specifically in relation to the Westerville school district’s financing.

In addition to Dr. Constable, moderating this discussion will be Mike Collins, a member of the State Board of Education. Other panelists members will include Westerville schools Superintendent Dan Good; David Kotary, of the Brower Insurance Agency, former board chairman of the Westerville Area Chamber of Commerce; Kathy Greenwell, of the Greenwell Group, HER RealLiving; and local government representatives.

Also, David Varda, executive director of the Ohio Association of School Business Officials, will discuss “The Big Picture in Ohio.” Bart Griffith, treasurer for Westerville schools, will in turn discuss district finances

To go along with the discussion panel, there be a question and and answer session immediately following.
