This week’s animal complaints have yet again topped the list of phone calls to the Westerville Police Department; alongside suspicious persons, suspicious vehicles, and non-injury accidents.
A bat was spotted three times in the crime log this past week. The bat was found inside a store at 16 E. College Ave. on February 2, 2012. Then, the Ohio Wildlife Center called in the next day about the bat. Later that day, a complaint about the bat was received from 200 S. State St.
An ill skunk and injured deer also made their way into the crime reports on January 30th.
The skunk was apprehended by the service department and described as a “very ill or injured skunk” on 970 E. College Ave. The skunk was seized by the service department and a home is yet to be determined.
The male deer was struck at 601 Dempsey Road by a car. The deer was still alive and injured. The deer ran away into the woods after the collision.
A caller reported from 91 S. State St. a coyote on February 3, 2012 at 8:21 a.m.
