Accidents at State and Shrock are twice the state average.

A proposal was presented to council members that would help to clear up traffic and reduce accidents. Planning and Development Director Karl Craven said the project would also help to make the area more pedestrian friendly.

Two different plans are being discussed to improve capacity and reduce congestion. The plans also seek to minimize environmental disturbance and add sidewalks.

Councilwoman Diane Fosselman said, “I appreciate the fact that it provides improved traffic flow and will lessen crashes.”
